    Interrogating the Text

  2. Read a text passage you've selected or your teacher assigned to you. If you do not have an assigned reading or have not identified a reading on your own, consider selecting one of the following:

  3. After performing a close reading and annotating the text, prepare written answers to all the questions on the Interrogating the Text handout.

  4. Save your answers in the PDF handout and submit to your teacher, either by printing or emailing the file. If you are completing this CRA on your own, ask a mentor to review your completed handout.

  5. Once you receive feedback from your teacher, open the file and make any additions or changes to original answers that you feel are necessary in light of feedback.

  6. Write a 1-2 page essay in which you describe the larger insights gained by interrogating the passage. These insights can be about your understanding of the text and/or about yourself as a reader.
